REN15 (Jiuwei, “Dove Tail”) is the Luo-connecting point of the Conception Vessel Meridian. REN15 is located on the anterior midline of the abdomen, 7 cun superior to the umbilicus, and 1 cun inferior to the xiphoid process. It calms the spirit, regulates Qi, alleviates pain.

Needling

Oblique insertion inferiorly 0.5-1.0 cun. Caution for the heart.

⚠ Heart risk: oblique/transverse only over the sternum; avoid deep perpendicular.

REN15 is the Luo-connecting point of the Ren meridian, allowing it to connect with the entire body and especially the Yin meridians. It is primarily used to calm the spirit, regulate Qi, and alleviate pain, particularly in the chest and epigastrium. It is especially indicated for emotional disorders manifesting as chest oppression, anxiety, and palpitations, as well as for chronic pain in the upper abdomen. Its Luo function also allows it to treat disorders along the entire Ren meridian, often combined with HT7 for severe anxiety.
