BL50 (Weicang, “Stomach Granary”) is an acupuncture point on the Bladder Meridian. It is located on the back, 3 cun lateral to the posterior midline, at the level of the lower border of the spinous process of the 1st lumbar vertebra (L1). This point is located 1.5 cun lateral to BL22. It harmonizes the middle jiao, alleviates pain, regulates qi.

Needling

Perpendicular or oblique insertion 0.8-1.2 cun. Caution: pneumothorax.
