Accessibility Statement

qiboo.ai is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Last Updated: May 29, 2026

Our Commitment

We believe that access to medical research should be universal. We strive to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and are working toward full compliance across all platforms.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

WCAG 2.1 Level AA Conformance

qiboo.ai is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Accessibility Features

Keyboard Navigation

Full keyboard accessibility with logical tab order, skip navigation links, and visible focus indicators. All interactive elements can be accessed without a mouse.

Screen Reader Compatibility

Semantic HTML markup, ARIA labels, and descriptive alt text for images. Tested with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver screen readers.

Visual Accessibility

WCAG AAA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text), resizable text up to 200%, and no information conveyed by color alone.

Responsive & Adaptable

Fully responsive design that works across devices. Content reflows properly, and functionality is preserved at different zoom levels and screen sizes.

Clear Language & Structure

Proper heading hierarchy, descriptive link text, and plain language summaries for complex medical terminology. Reading level optimized for broad accessibility.

Form Accessibility

Clear labels, error messages, and instructions. Inputs are properly associated with labels and provide helpful feedback for validation errors.

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are actively working to resolve them:

  • PDF Documents: Some research PDFs are hosted by external publishers and may not be fully accessible. Where possible we link to the original source so you can request accessible versions from the publisher.
  • Interactive Visualizations: Complex charts and diagrams may have limited screen reader support. We provide text alternatives where possible.
  • Third-Party Content: Embedded or externally hosted content (such as videos and abstracts) may not meet our accessibility standards, as it is not under our direct control.
  • Historical Archives: Some legacy content from before 2024 may not fully meet current standards. We are gradually updating this content.

Assessment & Testing

We evaluate accessibility as part of how we build the site:

Self-evaluation
We review our pages against WCAG 2.1 Level AA as we build and update them, and fix issues as we find them.
Automated testing
We use automated tools such as Lighthouse and browser accessibility checkers during development.
Manual testing
We test keyboard navigation and screen-reader behaviour on key pages, and continue to expand this coverage.
User feedback
Reports from people who use the site are one of the most valuable ways we learn about real-world barriers. If you hit one, please tell us.
