SP1 Hidden White

SP1 (Yǐnbái, “Hidden White”) is the Jing-Well (Wood) point of the Spleen Channel Meridian. It is located on the medial side of the great toe, 0.1 cun posterior to the corner of the nail. It stops bleeding, regulates the Spleen, calms the spirit.

As the Jing-Well and Wood point of the Spleen meridian, SP1 is a powerful point for stopping bleeding, especially uterine bleeding, menorrhagia, and blood in the stool or urine. It is also renowned for its ability to calm the spirit, particularly in cases of insomnia, nightmares, and mania, often used in emergency situations. It is empirically used for restoring consciousness and is often paired with BL67 for turning a fetus.
