REN2 (Qugu, “Qugu”) is an acupuncture point on the Conception Vessel Meridian. It is located on the anterior midline, in the depression at the superior border of the pubic symphysis, at the pubic hairline. It warms the Lower Jiao, regulates urination, benefits the uterus and genital system, dispels cold and dampness.

Location

Needling

Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 1.0 cun, or oblique-inferior insertion 1.0 to 1.5 cun. Note: The bladder should be empty before needling to avoid puncture.
