LU8 (Jingqu, “Channel Gutter”) is the Jing-River (Metal) point of the Lung Channel of Hand Taiyin Meridian. It is located on the radial aspect of the forearm, 1 cun proximal to the transverse wrist crease, in the depression between the radial artery and the styloid process of the radius. It descends Lung Qi, alleviates cough and asthma.

Perpendicular insertion 0.1-0.3 cun, avoiding the radial artery.

Cough, asthma, chest pain, sore throat.
LU8 is the Metal point on the Lung Metal meridian, making it a powerful point for regulating Lung Qi, particularly in conditions of excess or stagnation. As a Jing-River point, it is classically indicated for cough, asthma, and wheezing, especially when accompanied by a sense of oppression in the chest. It is also used for wrist pain and carpal tunnel syndrome due to its location. Clinically, it is less commonly used than LU7 or LU9 but can be effective for acute respiratory distress.
