SI19 (Tinggong, “Auditory Palace”) is an acupuncture point on the Small Intestine Channel Meridian. Located anterior to the tragus, in the depression between the tragus and the condyloid process of the mandible. This point is found when the mouth is open. It benefits the ear and alleviates pain.

Needling

Perpendicular insertion 0.5-1 cun. Avoid puncturing the temporomandibular joint capsule.

SI19 is a primary local point for all ear disorders, renowned for its efficacy in treating deafness, tinnitus, otitis media, and earache. Its proximity to the temporomandibular joint also makes it valuable for TMJ pain and jaw lock. As one of the three 'ear gate' points (along with SJ21 and GB2), it is often used in conjunction with them to maximize auditory benefits, particularly for conductive hearing loss.
