LI15 (Jiān Yú, “Shoulder Bone”) is the Meeting point of LI & Yang Qiao point of the Large Intestine Meridian. It is located on the shoulder, in the depression anterior and inferior to the acromion, when the arm is abducted. It activates channel, alleviates pain, dispels wind, benefits shoulder joint.

Needling

Perpendicular insertion 1.0-1.5 cun, or oblique insertion towards the elbow 1.5-2.5 cun.

⚠ Major vessel/nerve nearby — palpate first; avoid deep insertion.

As a meeting point of the Large Intestine and Yang Qiao Mai, it effectively dispels wind, damp, and cold from the joint, promoting mobility. It is also used for clearing heat from the channel, benefiting the face and eyes. It is a command point for the shoulder and is often used with LI11 for upper limb issues.
